The Local Government Act stipulates that the Council will appoint a General Manager to conduct the day to day management functions of the Council, and to this end, will appoint appropriate levels of staffing and allocate functions to those appointed roles. Senior staff profiles and the operating structure of the organisation are outlined below.

General Manager - Mr Allan Young

The General Manager is responsible for the efficient and effective operations of the Council organisation including the day to day management of Council, exercising such functions as delegated by the Council and the appointment, direction and dismissal of staff. Council’s Departmental Directors, as listed hereunder, report directly to the General Manager.
     
  
DCS Paul Sheridan     

Director of Corporate Services – Mr Paul Sheridan

The Director of Corporate Services is responsible for Administration, Finance and Accounting, Customer Service and Public Relations, IT and Records, Human Resources Management, Rates and Property and Community Services including RTA Agency, Tourist Office, Library and Youth Centre.

     

DTS Gil Gendron       

Director of Technical Services – Mr Gil Gendron

The Director of Technical Services is responsible for Roads, Bridges and Transport Network, including streets, signage, footpaths, car parks, drainage and weight of loads control; Survey and Design; Plant and Workshop; Parkes, Gardens and Recreation; Saleyards; Water and Sewerage Schemes.

     

DPE Glenn Wilcox

Director of Planning and Environment – Mr Glenn Wilcox

The Director of Planning and Environment is responsible for Strategic Land Use Planning, including development and building control; Environment including water quality, septic tank inspections, pollution and noxious plants control, Rural Fire Services; Health Services including food inspections, companion animals, cemeteries, waste and recycling and Aged Care Facilities.
